My Story

I was inspired by all of the beautiful trans, non binary and gender non conforming people around me. I am in awe of their strength in the darkest of days. I want to take the love and positivity of our community and turn it into something visual. Although I am proud of the work I have done I know that it is truly impossible to capture every aspect of what it means to be trans so take this project as a glimpse into how awesome we are. My self portrait is inspired by my relationship with my body and my gender and how it improves with each day that I get to live as my authentic self, I also want to show how transition never ends and each day I discover something new about myself.

Only very recently have i experienced trans joy i refused to be in photos or take photos of myself for such a large portion of my life, but I’m at a point in my transition where i feel comfortable being perceived with my consent.

Identity Ownership

I may finally on my way to being the person I’ve want to be. I want people to just see me and no gender; to meet new people and to share experiences. I also want to start the process of having top surgery.

Duality

I think there is a lot of joy in transitioning that often gets drowned out by the miserable shit that also seems to follow it around. I would like people to see what joy transitioning can bring us.

Beautiful Mind

I have something called static vision, a neurodiversity that’s quite interesting. I’m also autistic which is statistically common for non binary folks. This modelling was with gender bending clothing which I love called bull and dagger. Trans joy for me is about wearing what feels good and showing off mad pride and neurodiversity pride. Mutual aid networks are important to me and wellbeing support too.
