About the role

The Senior Media and Communications Manager is responsible for developing HJL’s media strategy and assisting with implementing the broader communications and narrative change strategies. Together with the Communications Team, the Senior Media and Communications Manager will use their insights into strategic communications, narratives and framing to expand the profile of HJL and our work and shape public discourse on racial, social and disability justice, health inequity and healing. The role will hold responsibility for managing the digital engagement and content production workstreams and will offer essential insights into our audiences and channels.

We’re looking for a thinker and relationship builder who enjoys working with a diverse set of people and organisations to deliver concrete outcomes. This role will help us reach a wider audience; learn, document and share insights from our work; create partnerships with various stakeholders to affect change for our communities; and ensure our programming and campaigns have maximum comms impact.

We know that people from certain backgrounds and identities are often excluded in progressive movements and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this. Therefore we particularly welcome applications from marginalised groups, especially people of colour and other ethnic minorities, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Disabled people and those who identify as working class or have been historically excluded.
