Acknowledging that the pandemic has created unprecedented loss and bereavement due to structural violence, in the change, intensity and heartbreak of these times, many of us are feeling the sorrow of uprooting and loss. Healing Justice Ldn is holding a regular healing and grief space for our community, to hold and support multiple forms of loss and mourning.
This will be a gentle online space using regulating and embodiment techniques and tools to support us. We are invited to be in community and solidarity with one another and hold space together.
Sessions will involve some breath and body-based work to ease the trauma of grief, supported by the belief that “grieving is a natural gift of human nature” (Sobonfu Somé). All exercises will be optional and scaffolded so that people can engage in ways that feel comfortable, honouring each individual’s range.
This space is specifically for those interested in exploring how grief and loss manifests in the body. We encourage people interested in attending to discern what levels of engagement will be most useful and supportive to them, with the awareness that feelings may surface, some of which will be held in the space, supported by our aftercare menu and/or the personal responsibility of the individual attending. We encourage you to practise agency and consent, choosing whether this is the right space for you at this moment and welcome you if you are ready and feel able to join.
These sessions will be online with closed captioning available. If there are any access needs you’d like us to consider, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
